The coastal town of Tathra is rich in history and traditions of the sea.

Tathra unfortunately was planted into our minds more recently as the village that suffered so much from a terrifying bushfire in March 2018. The bushfire may have caused devastating damage but the Tathra residents have worked hard to push back and recover. Business flows on and the beauty remains.

One of the iconic points of Tathra is the Tathra Wharf. It’s always the centre of activity. Its historic timbers standing proud and creating a focus for visitors and those wanting to cast a line. It is the only remaining sea wharf on the East Coast and watches over the main beach as it meanders 3km around the shoreline. Tathra Beach is patrolled in summer and protected from southerly winds making it great for surf, board riding and sailboarding.

Make Tathra a must during your visit to the Sapphire Coast.
